Susie Larson Your Beautiful Purpose

Feel free to download & share

I recently read an encouraging study book called Your Beautiful Purpose: Discovering and Enjoying What God Can Do Through You by Susie Larson. This faith-builder would be great for a ladies’ Bible study or to share with any young women who need practical guidance and encouragement. It’s simple and straight-forward style will have broad appeal.

About the author: Susie Larson is a popular radio who host, national speaker, and author. She has a passion to see women everywhere strengthened in their faith and mobilized to live out their high calling in Jesus Christ. Susie and her husband live near Minneapolis, Minnesota. You’ll find Susie’s website at this link. You can also connect with her on Facebook or on Twitter.

Susie Larson Bio 2How will reading Susie’s book benefit you? “Like a trusted friend, Susie Larson shares practical, scriptural ways to overcome whatever keeps us from living fully in God’s will. Susie will help you learn to discern the best use of your time and gifts, confidently pursue God’s unique desires for you, and stretch your faith and deepen your impact.”

What was my main spiritual takeaway from the book? It can be summed up in this quote: “God’s will for you is your best-case scenario. I marvel at how He lovingly takes our broken pieces, our tangled-up fears, our worst mistakes, and creates a mosaic of beauty that impacts the world.”

I especially appreciated what Susie had to say about Jealousy: From Susie: “One day I met a darling, successful author/speaker friend. She was witty, confident, and did I mention successful? Her massive speaking events made mine look small. My book sales compared to hers, well, never mind.

Her kingdom contribution, no matter how you sliced it, reached farther and had more impact than mine. And to top off this recipe for jealousy, she garnered lots of help, had lots of volunteers, and made it all look easy. As soon as I noted the contrast between her impact and mine, I felt that familiar fist in my gut. I’d been down jealousy’s road before. Way down. So far down the road that I lost sight of everything good in my life.

Whenever I looked from left to right comparing others’ haves with my have-nots, I became the poorest woman on the planet. But when I chose to look upon the One who gave me life and breath and every promise with a yes, I quickly became the richest woman on the planet. Isn’t it something how when we look His way, He changes us?

‘Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.’ Ps. 34:5
If [God] pours more of His virtue and influence and impact into my life, does it mean He has less for you? Ours is a God of limitless supply!
And since we please Him with our faith and it’s to the Father’s great glory that we bear much fruit, I’m going to ask, seek, knock, and believe that God wants more and more territory in my life that He may advance His purposes on the earth. And I challenge you to do the same.”
