 Faith is two empty hands

“Faith is two empty hands held open to receive all of the Lord.”

So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith
And that you, being rooted & grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all the saints
What is the breadth & length & height & depth,
And to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge,
That you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
~Philippians 3:17-19~

  1. I like the word picture with FAITH. I love the word, the principle of HOPE. Can’t breathe without it! I’m stopping by from Word Filled Wednesday!

  2. What a lovely quote!

  3. A wonderful quote. 🙂

  4. Neat quote! I have always loved the idea of keeping my hands open and not holding onto things, but that is so difficult. Thinking of receiving all of The Lord may help with follow through! 🙂

  5. My grandmother used to say something very similar. Very true.

  6. Blessings back to you; I love the graphic.

  11. People forget that if you want the Lord’s help, you have to be willing to receive whatever help He sends! Beautiful quote, thanks for sharing!

  12. Renee, what a lovely photo of your niece. I like the Alan Redpath quote–two empty hands, not one.

  13. Henri Nouwen wrote a small book titled With Open Hands with a similar message. It’s one of my favorites. I’ll have to look up Alan Redpath. Thanks for the tip and inspirational thought, Renee Ann. Blessings to you!
