“In everyone’s life, at some time, the inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner fire.” ~Albert Schweitzer~
Who would you add to this list?

That is some list if hero’s you have there, Renee. Some of my all time favorites.
I agree
Awesome post.
What a great question!
I think friends do this for each other, too, don’t you?
You’ve listed my heros! Corrie Ten Boom, Jim and Elizabeth Elliot, C.S. Lewis
The only others I can think of are George Washington, Susanna Wesley, and William Carey. Have a blessed week!
You added three great ones
I love your list. Another favorite is George Mueller for me. He had such an inspirational prayer life.
Another great inspiration! Thanks for reminding me, Julia
I love your list! Those are amazing people to look up to.
I agree! Thanks for the visit, Patty
Great list of amazing people who have blessed my life with their words of wisdom and love for God. I would add Charles Spurgeon and Oswald Chambers to my list.
You’re right, Cathy–those men belong on this list.
Great list! I would add George MacDonald, the writer who influenced C.S. Lewis. His stories helped me through a time of crisis.
Oh, Carol, I love George MacDonald! He certainly couched words of wisdom and encouragement in his stories. Thanks for bringing another great inspirer to our attention!
When I read that quote the first person who popped into my mind was MLK Jr. He seemed to rekindle an inner fire in a lot of people.
How’s your school year going?
He certainly was a dynamic speaker who touched many hearts! . . . My school year’s going well, Joy. Flying by, actually. How ’bout yours?
Mother Teresa
So true, Lynda! She was an incredible example to us all.
Oh how I LOVE this post
Maybe Gladys Alyward…Hudson Taylor…Adoniram Judson…
Love them, too, Kara! Hudson Taylor was the first missionary I learned about when I became a Christian as a teen. Have you seen the Hollywood version of Gladys Alyward’s life–The Inn of the Sixth Happiness? It’s a good one.
