Meet Joday Hedlund and Laura Frantz and win their books

The Season’s of Love Progressive Blog Party is drawing to a close. If you’re a book lover, you’ll want to stop in at the various sites and sign up for the drawings the bloggers are hosting.

Saturday’s party post features first-time author Jody Hedlund. I loved her book The Preacher’s Bride, which was based on the life of Elizabeth Bunyan, John Bunyan’s second wife. You can read an interview with her at this link to Dark Glass Ponderings. Julia and Jody are giving away a copy of Jody’s book. I believe they’re also giving away Godiva chocolate!

Sunday’s post features one of my favorite authors, Laura Frantz. Laura writes inspirational historical fiction that will not only take you to another place and time but will also touch your heart with the truths of God. You can find Laura, plus a 3-book giveaway, at this link for the Black and Gold Girl’s Book Spot. Bookmark the spot so you’ll remember to visit after church!

And to remind you to return later, here are Laura’s book covers for you to enjoy . . .

  4. Thanks for posting this Renee! I’m excited for my day with Laura tomorrow 😛 I’ll be offering 3 books to one winner, while they’re not Laura’s books they are very good stories and I know whoever wins them will be sooo happy!

    XOXO~ Renee

  5. Laura Frantz is absolutely at the top of my list as my favorite author. I have read all of her books and anyone who wins them is in for a treat. I just can’t wait for the next one! When my mom passed away last May, (I had to have surgery 3 days before she died ) I was such a wreck. I took a copy of Courting Morrow Little and starting reading it outside in the fresh air, amongst my flowers and sunshine, and God gave me blessed respite. The healing process had begun, and though it takes time, that was the beginning for me. It was such a good book I got completely immersed in it, and was able to forget my grief for awhile. The Frontiersman’s Daughter was the best! That’s all I can say is it was THE best. Laura is one of the sweetest, most Godly, and encouraging ladies I know, and I’m proud to be counted as one of her friends.
I just finished The Preacher’s Bride and I found it very good as well. I recently told Jody, that when I start skimming the pages, that book is in trouble with me, (I am a picky reader) but there was no skimming for me in the Preacher Bride. It was a real pageturner!
I don’t even know if it was ok for me to post here, but I felt compelled to. I can’t wait for the interviews…obviously I don’t want want to be entered in any giveaway, but that chocolate sure sounds good! I’ll take that!:)
    Blessings to all of you~

    • I’m so glad you commented, Diana! I enjoy talking books with gals who love the same authors I do. Your testimony about CML is beautiful. I’m picky about the books I read because I feel like I end up experiencing the events along with the heroine. So I want to make sure the characters and journey are worthwhile. There are some books I go back to again and again–I consider them old friends. I don’t know if it’s just because they comfort me or maybe that author expressed what I could not . . . I hope you’ll come back to visit my blog again and add some thoughtful comments. I really appreciate it! Blessings!

BTW, you have to follow the links above to get to the interviews!

  6. Thank you, Renee! Is there a way to subscribe to your blog via email? That’s just the easiest way for me.:) I love your blog…absolutely beautiful! I know you have taken alot of time with it; it sure shows!

    • Thanks, Diana! I checked my email subscribers list and your email is on it. So I assume you found the email spot. I like to get email updates myself. It reminds me to read my favorite blogs.

  7. thanks for the reminder
