Do not call to mind the former things,
Or ponder things of the past.
Behold, I will do something new,
Now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it?
I will even make a roadway in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert~Isaiah 43:18&19~
With God’s help, I’m striving to put away last year’s words of defeat and claim God’s words of hope for the future. How about you, friends? What words will you put behind you? What words of promise will you claim for 2013? Be assured, whenever I see your comment, I lift you up in prayer—even if I don’t get to visit your blog or respond right away. Blessings!

Happy new year blessings to you!
This year’s words: “I will . . . ”
Thanks for pinning me down
Great perspective, Lori! Blessings!
I was just thinking about that verse yesterday.
Thanks for the good question.
Thanks for taking the time to visit, Laura. Love your blog! Blessings!
I enjoy the thoughts on words. I liked the idea of choosing a word for the year. Mine this year is hope.
Thanks for your post and blessings to you!
Sorry I haven’t been over to “visit” lately, LeAnn. But I love seeing your words here. Thanks for sharing HOPE with so many of us! Blessings!
My word for 2013 is purposeful. I want to be purposeful in all I do for God. I love this word because it encompasses the words intentional, meaningful, & determined. Thanks for sharing.
Loved your post about your new word, Aisha! Thanks for taking the time to share here. Blessings!
every day, every week, every month every year it remains the same grateful. This is a lovely post Happy New Year wishes and thank you for sharing at the hop. I hope you will stop by again soon. I posted the new giveaway! xo
Thanks for sharing such great stuff with us, Katherine. Your blog is a great place to hang out! Blessings!
I used that Eliot quote recently
But what I really want to keep in mind is that passage from Isaiah…how courageous we would be if we lived as if we truly believed that!
So true, Marty. I’m glad I popped over to see the beautiful inspiration you left for us on your blog. Thanks for the visit & have a great Sunday!
Happy New Year!
Wonderful words of encouragement! Thank you!
How refreshing to see a quote from T.S. Eliot! I studied his work in high school. What an appropriate quote, as well as one of my favorite scriptures! Thanks, Renee!
Amazing scriptures! These verses continue to come before me. I must continue to meditate on them. Obviously, God wants me to forget some things as He is about to replace the former with the new. Thanks for sharing.
Hmm…last year’s words were not good!! This year I have chosen JOY in particular but thanksgiving leads to JOY and grace is given despite my failures (oh! that is one of last year’s words).
Thanks for linking up over at WholeHearted Home and blessing me with this post.
Same words, same years. Forever and ever. Just because New Year comes, our Lord doesn’t change any of His character or His Words. That’s what counts to me. Thank you.
