C S Lewis Laughter

“The sun looks down on nothing half so good as a household laughing together over a meal.” ~C. S. Lewis~

Some of my best memories are dinner times during my childhood, when my whole family was happy, healthy & laughing together.
That will not happen again on this side of eternity.
I cherish those days.

Hold your kids close.
Call your parents.
Drop an email to your siblings.
And thank God for those He gives us to love.

Thanks for  by stopping by today! Blessings, friends!

“Happiness is not only a hope, but in some strange way, also a memory.” ~G. K. Chesterton

“When large numbers of people share their joy in common, the happiness of each is greater because each adds fuel to the others’ flame.”
~Augustine~

“The sun looks down on nothing half so good as a household laughing together over a meal.”
~C. S. Lewis~

“Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends.
Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top.
Put yourself aside & help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.”
~Philippians 2:3&4, The Message~

Putting on Humility

Humility C. S. Lewis

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less.”
~C. S. Lewis~

“So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense.” ~Colossians 3:12,13a~

This practical wisdom from one of God’s humble servants changed my thought-life. I hope it encourages you today, friends! Blessings!

In Over Your Head

Isaiah 43 In Over Your Head

(Click to Tweet)

~Isaiah 43:2-4~

When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
It won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,
The Holy of Israel, your Savior.
I paid a huge price for you:
All of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in!
That’s how much you mean to me!
That’s how much I love you!
I’d sell off the whole world to get you back,
Trade the creation just for you.

I love knowing that God’s my personal lifeguard, don’t you? Maybe we can even let the promises in these verses make us be brave.

May we continue to strengthen each other for what lies ahead on this awesome faith journey. Blessings, friends!

A Peek at the End

Billy Graham quotes

(Click to Tweet)

“I’ve read the last page of the Bible. It’s all going to turn out all right.” ~Billy Graham

“All shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.” ~Julian of Norwich~

“And then this: We can tell you with complete confidence—we have the Master’s word on it—that when the Master comes again to get us, those of us who are still alive will not get a jump on the dead and leave them behind. In actual fact, they’ll be ahead of us.

The Master himself will give the command.

Archangel thunder!

God’s trumpet blast!

He’ll come down from heaven and the dead in Christ will rise—they’ll go first. Then the rest of us who are still alive at the time will be caught up with them into the clouds to meet the Master.

Oh, we’ll be walking on air!

And then there will be one huge family reunion with the Master. So reassure one another with these words.”

~I Thessalonians 4:15-18, The Message~

May we continue to strengthen each other for what lies ahead on this awesome faith journey. Blessings, friends!

Light

God Is Light

(Click to Tweet)

“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life [Jesus].

“The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We write this to make our joy complete.

“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.” ~I John 1:1-5~

“[God] You are radiant with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game.” ~Psalm 76:4~

“The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” ~Proverbs 4:18~

According to Merriam Webster, light is ‘the natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible.’

I love that—because ever since God uttered, “Let there be light,” that’s what He’s been doing for us—cutting through the gloom of this dark world to open our eyes to what’s true & lasting. He is light!

May we continue to strengthen each other for what lies ahead on this awesome faith journey. Blessings, friends!

On The Road Again

Renee Ann Smith —  March 4, 2015 — 8 Comments

Scripture PIcture

In light of all this, here’s what I want you to do.
While I’m locked up here, a prisoner for the Master,
I want you to get out there and walk—better yet, run!—
On the road God called you to travel.
I don’t want any of you sitting around on your hands.
I don’t want anyone strolling off, down some path that goes nowhere.
And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts,
But steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love,
Alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.
~Ephesians 4:1-3~

Barricade the road that goes Nowhere;
Grace me with your clear revelation.
I choose the true road to Somewhere,
I post your road signs at every curve and corner.
I grasp and cling to whatever you tell me;
God, don’t let me down!
I’ll run the course you lay out for me
If you’ll just show me how.
~Psalm 119:29-32~

Are your feet dragging along the way God marked for you?

It’s okay to rest.

But then we need to renew ourselves with Scripture, catch a glimpse of what’s waiting for us at the finish line & ask God for the grace to keep on going!

May we continue to encourage each other on this awesome faith journey!

Praying endurance & energy for you, friends!
